Having spent over 20 years making coffins for a national coffin maker and seeing how things could be done much better, Steve Soult established Steve Soult Limited, in 2001.

13 Years later, the dynamic and innovative company he created, which is now spread across two production facilities, has three core values underpinning every activity: dependability; friendliness; first choice.

Steve's original vision was based upon the primary goal of satisfying the needs of funeral directors and remains a primary focus to this day. Supporting businesses who take on one of the most important events that anyone is likely to have to plan, is something that calls for professionalism, integrity and a real world understanding of those needs.

Constantly communicating with funeral director partners and offering a valuable customer service and support package forms the basis of that real world understanding. It allows us to keep one step ahead of trends, constantly innovating and experimenting with products and services that make a real difference.

In 2011 the Italian style Last Supper range of solid wood coffins were launched, followed by an industry first, the Artiste range of personalised coffins. Extremely popular with client families, it continues to give our funeral director partners an instant advantage over their competitors, by offering something unique. The Artiste is fast becoming the coffin of choice by families wishing to express the most individual of farewells.

2012 Saw the launch of European style, solid wood coffins with superior high gloss or satin finishes and contrasting, intricate gold inlay detail. Similar coffins of inconsistent quality, had only previously been available via imports.

And for 2014, the launch of the crematable Britannia casket, has again reinforced our recognised position as an innovative partner to funeral directors, ensuring we are constantly pushing the boundaries of customer service and support.

In what is seen as a very staid and traditional market, our innovative approach, quality and integrity are becoming increasingly sought after.

Guild of Master Craftsmen accredited

The Guild of Master Craftsmen continues a long established tradition of bringing together skilled people engaged in a trade, craft or profession in order to safeguard the interests of the public.

Manufactured at the edge of Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire, our coffins and caskets are second to none. Uncompromising quality is assured on all our products and we are proud to uphold the values of the Guild.

Recognising outstanding performance

Our most recent recognition by the guild, came in the form of an 'Outstanding Performance' award, for Production Manager, Martin Bingley. Two years on from development of the first Artiste products, Martin was recognised for his commitment to continually improving processes and designs for the innovative, personalised range of engraved coffins, ashes caskets and Britannia Caskets.

Martin said of his award: "Perfecting the Artiste range has been a challenge I've relished for over two years. I was very happy when this was finalised and the Britannia Casket was recently launched. However, I was even more pleased and surprised when Steve presented me the certificate on behalf of the Guild of Master Craftsmen for all the work I've done and my commitment to the project."

2014 saw the launch of our Britannia Casket range, a brand new innovation for the UK market. With growing requests for American style caskets, we developed a crematable casket that fitted in a UK hearse and has the same bespoke specification of our Artiste range.
